I started my career in the insurance industry in 1985 I have had the opportunity to work with and provide consulting services to hundreds of insurance agents and clients throughout Washington, Idaho, and Montana.  In 1992 to better serve my clients and agents I founded Northwest Planning Inc.   

 

Over the past 30 years, I have learned a lot.  Early on I learned that not all Insurance agents and agencies are created equal and clients don't always get the best advice or the best products.  Our industry is full of product salesman but woefully short on problem solvers.  I am a problem solver.  A good problem solver will take the time to fully understand the clients' needs, dreams, and desires. 

 

This industry is too big and complex for one person to know it all so an effective problem solver is a specialist who over time has become an expert to the clientele he or she serves.  I have spent my entire career providing expert advice to pre-retirees and retirees with regards to; long-term care, estate planning, income planning, and product selection.  For areas and disciplines I do not specialize in I have assembled a team of professional problem solvers, who like me, are experts in their respective fields; investments, legal issues, health insurance, and taxes.

I have always believed that my primary job is to educate my clients.  Only with the proper knowledge can a client make the right decision for his or her situation.  Over my career, I have been sought out as a key-note speaker and educator to industry peers and consumer groups.

Northwest Planning is one of only two firms in Washington endorsed by AAA Insurance Washington and North Idaho.  We were selected by AAA Insurance Washington and North Idaho to provide an educational format to teach how to successfully navigate retirement.  In addition, I am a co-founder of the Spokane Retirement Resource Center.  A non-profit (pending) organization specifically designed to provide education on all aspects of retirement in a non-biased and non-selling environment.
